Information About Glaucoma

conerta and eye pain?
My son is 12 years old and has been taking concerta 27 mg daily for about a year now. Lately he has complained about his eye hurting. He said it feels like someone is squeezing his eyeball. He even cries himself to sleep sometimes because of his eye, recently. He has no headache with it but his appetite has decreased tremendously the last couple weeks since this started and he feels nauseated a lot lately. There have been no changes. I plan on calling the Doctor and his optometrist tomorrow but was wondering if anyone else has had this. I researched a little online and it keeps showing glaucoma. Could prolonged use of concerta cause this??? ANy information would be great….
Thanks
First of all, I hope your son feels better.
The first thing that pops up into my mind is glaucoma. One of the side effects of concerta is an increase or decrease in blood pressure. Chronic high blood pressure will typically cause this.. but yes, it is best to go to your eye doctor and GP.
