Do you wear eyeglasses? If so, You really should read this information about transition glasses!
Wearers of prescribed lenses can encounter a dilemma each time the sun rises. Do they stay with their clear prescribed glasses? Doing so puts them at great risk of the aging effects brought on by the sun, such as serious lines and wrinkles brought on by squinting. By choosing to go with transition lenses, prescription lens users can wear the same pair of cups both inside and out. When they are inside the lenses {are|become|stay lighter, but when they go outside they actually quickly darken and provide protection from the sun.Transition sunglasses, also known as photochromic lenses, are specially coated with chemicals that respond well to ultraviolet light. Transition lenses created from glass have sterling silver chloride or silver halide embedded in the lenses. Plastic transition glasses contain all natural photochromic molecules. The molecules within these compounds are clear and transparent in light which does not contain UV rays. However, as soon as they go into sunlight they begin to change color. The sun causes the molecules to rapidly change shape, absorbing that sunlight and making the lenses to become darker. When the UV light is removed, the molecules revert back to their original state and the sunglasses become crystal clear again.This darkening process happens fairly quickly. Transition eyeglasses become dark in under one minute, though they may continue to darken slightly for up to fifteen minutes until the glasses reach their darkest state. Going the other way is slightly slower. Most transition sunglasses are much lighter within 2 minutes of being removed from UV rays and the lenses are almost completely clear within five minutes. However, the clearing process at times can take up to fifteen minutes for the glasses to reach their most translucent state.The stronger the sunlight, the darker the lenses will become. This means that effect will not always be consistent. It will depend on the time of day and {the strength of the sunlight|how strong the sunlight is.Transition lenses don’t darken without of Ultra violet rays. UV rays do not enter our cars because they are deflected by the glass. This means that transition eyeglasses do not protect a driver’s eyes from sunlight. In a car, transition lenses always remain a lighter color as a result of absence of UV rays.However, transition lenses are not just for prescription lens wearers. Sports people yearn optimal protection from their sunglasses may consider investing in a pair of eyeglasseswith photochromic properties. These sunglasses have darkened lenses which often become much darker when the UV light hits them. Because these lenses never are lighter, they are designed to be only worn outdoors.Because the chemical compounds contained in transition lenses work to filter out UV light, transition lenses provide 100% UV protection.
